Bat Mitzvah Club

A Jewish girls Bat Mitzvah birthday reflects a major turning point in her life. This club
emphasizes that a Bat Mitzvah is a process, not a self-contained event that takes place
on one day. The girls will gain new perspective on their roles as females, as adults,
and as Jews. The Bat Mitzvah Club serves as a forum for discussion and discovery of
the true meaning of Bat Mitzvah.
During the course of the year we will discuss the great Jewish women of our past and
how their lives continue to affect us. We will also go through the Jewish calendar and
learn about each holiday as it approaches. These lessons will be incorporated into
activities connected with what is being learned. Activities include ceramics, floral arrangements,
challah baking, food decorating, field trips, guest speakers and outreach in the Jewish community.
The Bat Mitzvah club is presented in conjunction with the international youth group Tzivos Hashem
, and is currently offered in over 150 cities worldwide.
