Holiday Programs
Our holiday programming for you runs through the yearly cycle of Jewish Holidays.
Please check the Upcoming Events link on the side bar for the dates of the next Holiday program.
We start off the year with a bang; all children are invited to our ROSH HASHANAH Ice Cream Party.
The sound of the Shofar is heard and everyone enjoys games and prizes.
Many Rabbinical students are sent out to all Jews in our neighborhood to blow the Shofar,
making sure that every Jew fulfills the vital Mitzvah of the day.
Our Sukkah Parties allow you to enjoy feasting in the Sukkah, the special booth for the
Holiday of SUKKOT, together with our community and a warm drink or two. Carnival booths,
clowns and an exciting performer, entertains all the children.
Lubavitcher Yeshiva students go throughout our neighborhood, bringing the Lulav and Etrog to all Jews
to make a blessing, and invite them to come and rejoice in the Sukkah.
The yearly CHANUKAH Celebration and Concert is an event for the entire family,
with holiday foods of Sufganiyot and Latkes, activities for the children and entertainment for all.
The lighting of the Menorah is the highlight of the gathering. Prizes are raffled off.
Personal visits are made to hundreds of families, distributing Chanukah Menorahs,
candles and Holiday guides.
PURIM is celebrated in part by hearing the Megillah reading and having a festive meal.
We spread out throughout our neighborhood, delivering Mishloach Manos to
hundreds of Jewish families, enabling them to fulfill the commandment of the Holiday.
Come celebrate the Purim Concert with singers, costume masquerade and lots
of Simchah & joy. Join our Purim Dinner and enjoy a full-course meal,
and toasts with the Rabbi, Rebbetzin, and the entire community.
PASSOVER is a time of preparation and lots of eating. We can help you with our
discounted Kosher for Passover products, and our Communal SEDERs,
to which you are most cordially invited and welcome to attend.
The outdoor event of the year, our LAG B'OMER Rally and Parade always includes
special programs for the children, musical entertainment, thrilling rides and fun for all!
Surgeons Recommendation: Take Two Tablets with Ice Cream! SHAVUOT is the time when
we renew our stand at Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments from G-d, and we
all join together every year at Chabad Lubavitch of Kensington for this occasion, followed
by an Ice Cream & Cheesecake Party.
